Medicine, my vocation since I was very little

Hello, my name is Milka Ayoví, and studying medicine was my biggest dream since I was little. I say it was because I am currently a doctor and I feel very happy, since school I was passionate about biology and human anatomy.

I was always motivated to follow this beautiful career, when I graduated from school, I studied hard to enter the University and study medicine.

Just imagining myself with the white coat and the stethoscope around my neck, I was very excited and even more excited to know that I was going to interact with many people and contribute something to their well-being.

Being at the University, the internship years are a little hard but also beautiful and rewarding, sometimes I had to sleep in the emergency room or on a stretcher out of order hahahaha.

There was also a time when I helped with first aid for people who came in the ambulance and I always had to be with gloves and a blood pressure monitor. When I was already an intern in the hospital, I always had to be with the note holder, stethoscope, two tongue depressors, specula and bandaje inside the white coat, because injured or sick children always arrived, I think it was because there was a park nearby, and I wasn't even a pediatrician, I was following cardiology. 

I became friends with a nurse who always locked herself in the cleaning rom to eat, since it was forbidden to do so in the facilities and because she always had to eat at a specific time and just in that morning it was not our break, because she suffers from heartburn and not eating causes stomach and colon irritation.

I love being a doctor and helping others, just as I fought to achieve their dreams, I invite you to do the same, take care of yourselves.
